Business Case Assumptions
← Back to the walkthrough
The working behind every number

Nothing here is fixed. This is the model, in the open.

The business case is only as good as its inputs. Below is every assumption, its benchmark range, and how confident we are in it. Three inputs marked your data swing the whole model. Give us those and we lock it together in the room.

Confidence: ● Grounded ● Benchmarked ● Directional ● Your data needed

1 The three numbers that swing everything

Before we argue about any output, these are the three inputs the whole case pivots on. We have used deliberately conservative placeholders. Your real figures move every line up or down together.

Your data needed

Contactable base

How many customers and leads can we prompt to join, across email, post-purchase, packaging and site.

Placeholder: 250,000. The membership numbers scale directly with this.
Your data needed

Attributed AOV

Average value of an order tracked to a member's code or link, blended across supplements, diagnostics and treatment plans.

Placeholder: ~£70 first-order-equivalent. Subscriptions push lifetime value far higher.
Benchmarked

Join & active rates

Share of prompted customers who join, and share of members who complete a mission in a given month.

Placeholder: ~6% cumulative join, ~27% monthly active.

2 Every input, on the table

The full parameter register. "Value used" is what feeds the Month 12 column of the business case unless noted.

3 How each output is built

Every headline number is one of these formulas. Change an input and the output moves with it. Figures shown are the Month 12 result.

Active ambassadors

Benchmarked
base × join rate × reach ramp × active rate
250,000 × 6% × ~1.0 × 27% ≈ 4,000

Content value / month

Benchmarked
active × pieces each × £ per asset
4,000 × 0.75 × £200 = £600k of creative

Direct affiliate revenue / month

Directional
active × orders each × AOV
4,000 × 1.4 × £75 ≈ £420k

Community investment / month

Grounded
15% × affiliate rev + rewards pool
£63k commission + £20k rewards = ~£83k

Hard ROI (revenue only)

Grounded
affiliate rev ÷ (community + platform)
£420k ÷ ~£84k ≈ 5.0×, before any content value

Total value ROI

Benchmarked
(affiliate rev + content value) ÷ cost
(£420k + £600k) ÷ ~£84k ≈ 12×

4 What is load-bearing, and what is upside

🎯 Read the case this way

Not every line deserves equal weight. Here is where we would stake our name, and where we would not:

  • Load-bearing and conservative: content output and its value. Even at the low end of every input, the creative alone offsets the full cost several times over.
  • Load-bearing, hinges on your data: affiliate revenue. The 5.0× hard ROI is the number to trust, because it counts only tracked cash against total cost, and still holds before content value.
  • Directional upside, not a promise: extra web traffic and social following. Real, but hard to pin precisely, so treat them as the cream, not the case.

Reality check: our modelled 5× hard ROI is below what live Club communities report. Daniel Wellington sees 600% monthly ROI, Body & Fit 700%, and Desenio has driven $11.2m in tracked revenue through 7,000 active members. We have chosen to model Numan conservatively and let the real results speak for the upside.
